So...  What exactly is it that Grandad does?
Well, firstly I'm not actually a Grandad, I never wanted kids as I thought I was too irresponsible. Growing up I liked to just pack a bag and go off on adventures, backpacking around Europe, enjoying the freedom to go where I wanted, when I wanted. This served me well as I learned to do many things from picking up random jobs and hobbies as I travelled. I fish, fly drones, turn wood, upcycle, photography, play computer games, magnet fish, metal detecting, work with laser cutter/engravers, love camping and even taught Duke of Edinburgh expedition training to kids - but I don't do sports, mechanics, discos or boozy parties.
In my late thirties I befriended a young lady, I kind of adopted her while she was studying at a local university, eventually she met her now husband and had twin boys. With both of them struggling with work and studies I volunteered to help out by looking after the kids full-time - 2 became 3 then became 4, and before I knew it 20 years had passed and I had a hand in raising four wonderful young men. For the last 6 years I've had a friend with (now 7) daughters who refer to me as grandad, and now also an 18 month old cousin to my original boys that I help look after once a week.
I seem to have an affinity with children, probably because I still feel and act like one myself.
When people tell me I'm good with kids I tell them that on my travels in my younger days I met a Genie who granted me a wish - I asked to be a Babe Magnet....   I think he screwed it up!

My name is Pat and I'm a semi retired 60 year old​ with a lot of hobbies and a dream. I hate living in a town and a cold wet climate, so I'm planning to find a little piece of land in Portugal to use as a base to travel and take travel photographs. I've found a few suitable places but in order to stay more than 3 months at a time I need to have a regular income, so I can apply for residency, at the current time I'm concentrating on my photography and drone flying to reach that goal.  Due to health issues I have a limited capacity for work but if I can make small repeated earnings from my hobbies, working when I can I should be able to meet the earnings  required for a residency permit.  If you would care to like and subscribe to my Youtube channel it would be greatly appreciated.
